Winton "Win" Strickland

June 6, 1926 ~ May 19, 2019 (age 92)


Winton "Win" Strickland, 92, Wellington Way, died at 4:26 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his home, of natural causes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at Lamb Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Bufford officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors.

Visitation will be from noon until the service hour Friday, May 24, 2019 at the funeral home.

A native of Buford, Georgia, he was born June 6, 1926, son of the late James Henry Strickland and Ilda Inez Wallace Strickland.

He was in sales for Tri-State Tractor and a served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Briar Lake Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Nolan Strickland, and his sisters, Elizabeth Mann and Genevieve Bethea.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joan Rexford Strickland, Hopkinsville; his sons, Mark (Jackie) Strickland, Hopkinsville, Steve (Beth) Strickland, Atlanta, Georgia, Charles Thomas Strickland, Los Angeles,California; his daughter, Leslie (Michael) Cubbin, Los Angeles, California; and 6 grandchildren.
