Ada Elizabeth Chilton

Ada Elizabeth Chilton, 92, Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Graening officiating. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Edgewood Baptist Church. 

A native of Trigg County, KY, she was born March 28, 1931, the daughter of the late William Marshall Darnell and the late Bertie Eyron (Luttrell) Darnell.

Ada was a quality control inspector at Thomas Industries. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school director, helped with Pep Club, and was part of the Women’s Missionary Union. She was a member of Democratic Women’s Club, Eastern Star, and charter member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Chilton; her daughter, Paulette Ramey; 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Boitnett (William) Jeffries, Gatlinburg, TN, Allison Chilton (John) Welch, Hopkinsville, KY; her brother, Marty Darnell, Clarksville, TN; her sister, Elsie Lancaster, Hopkinsville, KY; and her grandchildren, Heather Marie Jeffries and James Lucas Chilton Welch.
