Ada V. Young

Ada V. Young, 92, N. Fowler Ave., Hopkinsville, KY, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow in Fuller Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at the funeral home.

A native of Christian County, KY, she was born on September 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Urey Sylvester Gilliland and the late Georgia Victoria Bose Gilliland.

She was a seamstress for Elk Brand and a private home sitter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lestie Lowell Young; her sons, Wendell Young and Jimmie Joe Stewart; her daughter, Martha Ann Utley; her brothers, Robert Gilliland, Turk Gilliland, Kenneth Gilliland, and William "Street" Gilliland; her sisters, Octivia Gilkey, Corrine Gee, and Victoria Hampton.

Survivors include her sons, Ronnie Young, Donald Ray Young, and Gary Young, all of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughters, Elizabeth "Gayle" Hubley, Memphis, TN, Teresa Dockery, Hopkinsville, KY; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Fuller Cemetery, 2480 Nelson Drive, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
