Bernie Schmitt

Bernie Schmitt, 72, Greenville Road, Hopkinsville, KY died Saturday, May 23, 2020 at her home of natural causes.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Lamb Funeral Home with John Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Fruit Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at the funeral home.

A native of Christian County, KY, she was born December 5, 1947, the daughter of the late Cecil Johnson and the late Mabel Henderson Johnson.

She was a seamstress at Flynn Enterprises and a cafeteria worker at South Christian Elementary School. She also worked in the meat department at Houchens and for Classic Country Tanning. Bernie was a member of Fruit Hill Baptist Church, 4-H Trap Shooters, and Classic Cruisers Car Club.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Rodney Keith Combs; and her brother, Hanson "Doc" Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Mickey Schmitt, Hopkinsville, KY; her son, Ricky Wayne (Stephanie) Combs, Christian County, KY; and her 5 grandchildren, Wyatt Keith Combs, Tristin Blane Combs, Hannah Marie Combs, Dalton Lane Combs, Molly Agnew, all of Christian County, KY.
