Bobby Ray Hester, 82, Branson, MO, formerly of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour Friday, December 17, 2021 at the funeral home.
A native of Hopkinsville, KY, he was born February 27, 1939, the son of the late Ural Ardell Hester and the late Mary Bell (Sherron) Hester.
Bobby worked at Hopkinsville Milling Company, Save More Drugs, and Cain’s Potato Chip Company. He was a member and deacon at Living Hope Baptist Church, where he also was assistant music director and sang in the choir. Bobby enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing, following sports, and working hard for a living. He enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and saying hello to all the people he would meet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Ardell Hester and Brandon Hester; his sisters, Betty Jean Hester and Brenda (Walter) Barnwell.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Linda Hester, Branson, MO; his sons, Bobby (Marsha) Ray Hester, Jr. and Brandon Lee Hester, both of Hopkinsville, KY; his daughter, Beverly Lynn (Reuben) McDowell, Branson, MO; his sister, Barbara (Jon) Fritz, Sewickley, PA; his grandchildren, Meghan (Mike) Fitzgerald, Ashton Jones, and Jenna Stacy; his great-grandchildren, Natalie Renee, Madelyn Rose, Nancy Faye, Brooklyn Faith, and Michael Anthony, Jr.
