Charles E. Blankenship, 70, Johnson Mill Road, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Bradford Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation of natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Christian County, KY, he was born March 30, 1956, the son of the late Jewell Clifton Blankenship and the late Edna Mae (Austin) Blankenship.
Charles was a farmer and loved being with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herschel Blankenship, Roger Dale Blankenship; his sisters, Eula West, Ann Cook, Veda Hill, Marie Hale, and Mary Katherine Blankenship.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sue Blankenship, Hopkinsville, KY; his son, Michael Wayne McGar, Hopkinsville, KY; his daughters, Ruth Angela Smith and Edna Charlene Blankenship, both of Hopkinsville, KY; his brothers, Earl “Sonny” Blankenship, Doug Blankenship, James Blankenship, all of Louisville, KY, Henry Blankenship, Jewell Blankenship III, Jimmy Berghammer, all of Hopkinsville, KY; his sisters, Bessie P’Poole and Margaret Bishoff, both of Louisville, KY; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
