Clarice Whitaker Gabel

Clarice Whitaker Gabel, 97, formerly of Hopkinsville, KY, died Thursday, March 19, 2020 at her home in Madison, TN of natural causes.

A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

A native of Hopkinsville, she was born October 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Herman Allen Pool and the late Mary Audrey Morris Pool.

She worked at Fort Campbell, Kentucky in Civil Service for 20 years. She attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 

She was a member of the ladies VFW Auxiliary club and was on a bowling league in Hopkinsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Whitaker; her second husband, George Gabel; her son, Robert Alfred Whitaker; and her daughter, Judith Kay Whitaker.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Cathy (Frank) Whitlow, Fayetteville, NC; Mrs. Terri (Ronnie) Bridges, Greenbriar, TN; her sister, Mary Ruth Long, Chattanooga, TN; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
