David R. Abbott, 72, Antioch Road, Hopkinsville, KY passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, Newburgh, IN of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Lamb Funeral Home with Paul Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the funeral home.

A native of Louisville, KY, he was born February 6, 1953, the son of the late Farris Lee Abbott and the late Thelma (Duke) Abbott.

David worked in maintenance for the State Highway Department. He was a member of Bluff Springs Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean (Newton) Abbott, and his brother, Ronald F. Abbott.

Survivors include his sons, Troy Abbott, Cadiz, KY, Joseph R. Abbott, Christian County, KY; his brother, Johnny Abbott, Hopkinsville, KY; his sister, Nancy Duke, Hopkinsville, KY; his sister-in-law, Clara Abbott, Hopkinsville, KY; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
