David McGregor Obituary

David Wayne McGregor, 65, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 27, 2025 at St. Thomas West Hospital, Nashville, TN, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Holland officiating. The family has chosen cremation to follow after the service.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the funeral home.

A native of Seaside, CA, he was born April 1, 1960, the son of the late David Kenneth McGregor and the late Martha Wayne Simmons.

David was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and Papaw. His vibrant personality and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

David enjoyed playing baseball, tennis, and golf. He spent many weekends hunting, boating, and camping with family and friends. His love for people was as strong as his work ethic. He began his career as a groundskeeper for Skyline Golf Course before becoming a delivery driver and later a manager at Model Milk in the late 1990’s. He went on to work as a route driver and account manager at Key Oil Company, then transitioned to Seay Oil Company, where he served as both an account manager and bulk warehouse manager. David eventually finished his career doing what he loved most—working with his beloved brother and son—at Christian County Alternative Services.

David was the kind of man who never met a stranger. His generosity, quick wit, and warm smile could light up any room. He was a storyteller, a jokester, and a source of joy to those lucky enough to know him. David was also a man of deep faith, sharing his beliefs in quiet but powerful ways, living out his values with compassion and humility.

Survivors include by his devoted wife, Teresa Criswell McGregor; his son, Davis (Lauren) McGregor; his stepchildren, Chris (Nicole) Hunter and Christie (Josh) Futrell; his brothers, Chris (Cathy) McGregor and Michael (Kristie) McGregor.  He was a proud Papaw to five step-grandchildren, Karlie, Allie, Kase, Krissy, and Baylor; he is also survived by his nephews, Justin (Josiah) McGregor, Dalton (Alayna) McGregor; and his niece, Kenslie (Derrick) Tillman.

David's legacy will live on in the laughter he inspired, the love he shared, and the countless lives he touched.

Memorials may be made to Christian County Humane Society, 1228 Skyline Dr. Hopkinsville, KY, 42240.
