Edith Ruth Lewis

Edith Ruth Lewis, 88, Sterling Drive, Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at Lamb Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Bufford officiating. Burial will take place in Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton, IL.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Lamb Funeral Home.

A native of Franklin County, IL, she was born February 21, 1935, the daughter of the late Dempsey Funkhouser and the late Velma (Lacy) Funkhouser.

Edith was a secretary at American Red Cross for 35 years and also worked at Pennyrile Allied Community Services. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Butch" Lewis.

Survivors include her sons, Rick Pollock and Keith (Sherry) Pollock, both of Hopkinsville, KY; her brother, Bud Funkhouser, Mt. Vernon, IL; her grandchildren, Angela (Thomas) Loughery, Christine (Derik) Gillum, Leslie Ann (Cody) Jordan, and Makenzie (Clayton) Smithson; and 5 great-grandchildren.
