Friedlinde “Oma” Hancock, 83, Tanglewood Drive, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Christian Health Center, Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025 at Flat Lick Cemetery. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Dürnholz, Czech Republic, she was born March 30, 1941, the daughter of the late Johann Hirsch and the late Thersea (Erson) Hirsch.
Friedlinde was a seamstress at Flynn Enterprises and a member of Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Edelweiss Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hans Hirsch; and her sister, Erna Kisling.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Billy Ray Hancock, Hopkinsville, KY; her son, Michael (Lisa) Philhower, Jacksonville, FL; her daughters, Karoline (Steven) Schmith, Middletown, DE, Monica Deise, DeAnn Jones, and Lanna (Kelly) Keith, all of Hopkinsville, KY, and Laura (Don) Owen, Acworth, GA; her brothers, Werner Hirsch and Gunter Hirsch, both of Mannheim, Germany; her sister, Anni Quenzer, Mannheim, Germany; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
