Gathial W. (G.W.) Knight, 73, Mt. Zoar Hopkinsville Road, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at Baptist Health Madisonville of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Spencer Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the funeral home.
A native of Hopkinsville, KY, he was born June 3, 1951, the son of the late Thomas Edgar Knight, Sr. and Bessie Alice (Perry) Knight.
Gathial retired from the Kentucky State Road Department after 24 years of service. He was a member of Hopkinsville Church of Christ. Since his retirement, he enjoyed building 1/64 scale buildings and barns as a hobby. He would always enjoy taking pictures when family was around and of old barns. He also enjoyed fishing and tending to his yard and garden. Gathial will be greatly missed as a husband, father, step-dad, and Paw to his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas “Tom” Knight, James Roy Knight; his sisters, Mary Ida Ralston, Elizabeth Ann Pendleton, Patsy Ann Robinson, and Sue Alice Knight.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Judy (Turner) Knight, Hopkinsville, KY; his sons, Thomas (Sasha) Knight, of Missouri, Timothy Knight, Trevor Knight, Troy (Charity) Turner, and Donnie (Shellie) Turner, all of Hopkinsville, KY; his brother, Phillip Ray (Terrie) Knight, Hopkinsville, KY; his sister, Betty June (JD) Lingenfelter, Hopkinsville, KY; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
