Hilmond Simpson, Jr.

Hilmond Simpson, Jr., 90, Hopkinsville Mt. Zoar Road, Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his home of natural causes. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2024 at Lamb Funeral Home with Bobby Ashby officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the funeral home.

A native of Christian County, KY, he was born January 15, 1934, the son of the late Oscar Hilmond Simpson and the late Nellie (Marsh) Simpson.

Hilmond was a janitor for Christian County Public Schools. He was previously a railroad lineman and a mechanic at Collins Buick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Simpson, James Simpson, Douglas Simpson; his sisters, Juanita Johnson, Pauline White, Edith Jones, and Helen Good.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Sue Simpson, Hopkinsville, KY; his son, Larry Simpson, Christian County, KY; his daughter, Kathy Sue (Hoppy) Lovell, Glasgow, KY; his brothers, Keith Simpson, Kenneth (Diane) Simpson, and Clifford (Carol) Simpson, all of Hopkinsville, KY; his sisters, Carolyn Faye (Charles) Sugg, Christian County, KY, Nell Cooper, Mortons Gap, KY; his grandchildren, Brian (Natalie) Lovell and Tara (Chuck) Houchens; and 5 great-grandchildren.
