Hugh Ward "Babe" Davenport, 93, Cool Water Court, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the funeral home.
A native of Paradise, Kentucky he was born June 17, 1926 the son of the late George Davenport, Sr. and the late Velma (Ward) Davenport.
He served in the United States Army and also worked in construction as a building contractor. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise (Kem) Davenport; his sons, Hugh Ward Davenport, Jr. and James Michael Ceraul; his brothers, Jeff Davenport, Bill Davenport and George Davenport; and his sisters, Margaret Floyd, Barbara Davenport, Joann Strallow and Mildred Davenport.
Survivors include his daughters, Kye Kem Hendrix, Jacksonville, FL, Antha (Jerry) Hargrove and Missy (Tommy) Craft, both of Hopkinsville, KY; his sisters, Polly Freeman, Evansville, IN, Carolyn Wilson, Frankfort, KY, Peggy Davenport, New Douglas, IL.; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren
