Imogene Burd

Imogene Burd, 93, Gale Lane, Hopkinsville, KY, died Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

A private family service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2020 with Rev. Mike Humphries officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

A native of Cobb, KY, she was born March 31, 1927, the daughter of the late Claude Milton Young and the late Eula Elma (Cravens) Burd.

She worked at Kress Department Store, where she was the manager of the lunch counter. She was a member of Sinking Fork Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Allen Burd; her brothers, Ralph Young and Claude "Lindy" Young.

Survivors include her son, Bob (Kim) Simpkins, Dothan, AL; her daughters, Gail (Tom) Scillian, Hopkinsville, KY, Linda (Breck) Cayce, Hopkinsville, KY;  4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
