Iola Henderson Johnson

Iola Henderson Johnson, 89, Ovil Road, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky, Bowling Green, KY of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Weatherford officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the funeral home.

A native of Hopkinsville, KY, she was born July 5, 1931, the daughter of the late Benjamin Prock Henderson and the late Mary (Martin) Henderson.

Iola worked on the assembly line at Moe Light/Thomas Industries and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Odell Henderson, Elbert Henderson, and Elmer Henderson; her sisters, Isabell Powell, Vivian Weatherford, and Dorothy Jane Adams.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, James “Jim” E. Johnson, Hopkinsville, KY; her son, Robert Johnson, Hopkinsville, KY; her daughters, Sharon Flynn, Hopkinsville, KY, Donna Higgins, Bartow, FL; her brother, Nelson Henderson, Hopkinsville, KY; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
