J.D. McKee

J.D. McKee, 97, Seminole Drive, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Christian Health Center of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at Lamb Funeral Home with Cecilia Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation will be from noon until the service hour on Friday, December 19, 2025 at the funeral home.

A native of Smith Mills, KY, he was born November 21, 1928, the son of the late Samuel Louis McKee and the late Bertha Mae (Turner) McKee.

J.D. worked in the oil fields and civil service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Juanita (Proctor) McKee; his daughter, Sherry Garland; his brother, Howard Dewell McKee; his sisters, Lola Mae Dendy, Era Nell Watson, and Dorothy Muriel Wood.

Survivors include his sons, Rick (Maria) McKee, Gracey, KY, Kenny (Karen) McKee, Cadiz, KY; his daughter, Vonda (David) Aldridge, Hopkinsville, KY; 7 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
