James Lee Helms

James Lee Helms, 73, Johnson Mill Road, Crofton, KY, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Pastor Bob Wint officiating and Pastor Long assisting. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

A native of Monroe, NC, he was born August 11, 1948, the son of the late Carl Helms and the late Viola (Hagler) Helms.

James retired as First Sergeant from the United States Army. He also worked as a bus driver and substitute teacher for Christian County Public Schools. He was a member of Hopkinsville Seventh Day Adventist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ulrigg, and his brother, Kenneth Helms.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Helms, Crofton, KY; his daughters, Allison (Mark) Goforth and Sharon Helms, both of Crofton, KY; his sister, Margaret Crawley, of Iowa; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
