Jean Kabella, 77, Shaw-Ovil Road, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her home of natural causes.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Omaha, NE, she was born November 17, 1948, the daughter of the late Lawrence Williams Lay and the late Ilene Frances (Keasling) Lay.
Jean served in the United States Army National Guard. She worked in accounting for the National Park Service. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Kabella; her brother, Ricky William Lay; and her sister, Deborah JoAnn Layne.
Survivors include her sons, Randy (Karen) Perry, Hopkinsville, KY and Jim (Sherry) Perry, of South Carolina; her daughter, Christine Pearson, of Idaho; her brother, Frank James Lay, of Iowa; her sisters, Tammy Lay, of Iowa, Shirley Ann Hart, of Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
