Joe E. Alder, 84, Ellen Drive, died Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Covington's Convalescent Center of natural causes.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Blick officiating and Dr. Josh Powell assisting. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2020 at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, he was born July 9, 1935, the son of the late Joel Alder and the late Onie Thelma Boyd Alder.
He was a welder for Warrior Coal Company and a member of Kelly Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Alder and Roy Alder.
Survivors include his wife, Zorayda Alder, Hopkinsville; his sons, Ed (Judy) Alder and Rick (Holly) Alder, both of Hopkinsville, Tim (Dara) Alder, Crofton, and Shawn (Leslie) Alder, Hopkinsville; his daughters, Thelma (Kenneth) Sweeney and Tracie (Jason) Sisk, both of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Ray Alder and Gayle Alder, both of Christian County; his sister, Mary Belle Boren, Dawson Springs; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
