Judy Lynn Jasper, 59, of Oak Grove, Kentucky, died Aug. 13, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
Judy was born May 12, 1965, in Springfield, Tennessee, to Lowell A. Reigel Sr. and the late Barbara Ann Armstrong Reigel. Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her younger brother, John D. Reigel.
Judy was passionate about caring for children and spent much of her professional career as aftercare director at Pembroke Elementary School. She also served as a substitute teacher for Christian County Public Schools.
In 2015, Judy graduated from Murray State University with a bachelor degree in Integrated Studies. She then transitioned her career from childcare to working with the elderly. She worked for Home Instead in Clarksville and Hopkinsville for many years.
A devout Christian, Judy was known to use creativity and artistic skills to bring many vacation Bible school programs to life for the children at Pembroke Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church. She loved to sing in the choir and was always ready to bring a covered dish to the church potluck.
Judy was always excited to pack a bag and hit the road for a weekend trip any chance she got. During her life she shared her love of travel with her family by going on road trips together to many places including the Great Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida; and Hershey Park, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. A native to the area, Judy also loved to take drives down to the lakes where her ancestors called home, Golden Pond.
Anyone who knew Judy knew she was an avid fan of Elvis Presley. She visited Graceland many times and listened to the Elvis radio station every day. She also enjoyed collecting antique Coca Cola memorabilia.
Judy loved to spend time with her family and hosted many holiday gatherings throughout her life. She enjoyed all kinds of games, especially trivia, Scrabble and cards.
