A native of Greenville, she was born July 17, 1921, the daughter of the late Lewis and Ida Lou Boyd Williams.
She had been a legal secretary for a law office. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a past church secretary at Southeast Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, Tenn. She was a member of the VFW Post #1913 Ladies Auxiliary where she was chaplain and trustee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Gilbert Brown and her second husband, Lomon D. Meacham.
Survivors include her daughters, Judith Brown (John) Alexander, Charlotte, S.C., Susan April McDonald and Kim Elizabeth (Bill) Clarkson, both of Hopkinsville, and Patricia Jean Boyce, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; her sons, George (Pamela) Gilbert Brown Jr., Jacksonville, Fla., William (Dr. Cathy Christian) Martin Brown, Murray, and Daniel (Gail) Maben Meacham, Tomball, Texas; her twin sister, O’Nell Cook, Clarksville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
