Margaret Ann (Fields) Young

Margaret Ann Young, 83, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes.

A private family graveside service was held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Green Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard Sexton officiating. Lamb Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

A native of Hopkinsville, KY, she was born December 1, 1939, the daughter of the late Ernest Clay “Spike” Fields and Margaret Violet (Henderson) Fields. 

Margaret was a seamstress at Elk Brand Clothing Factory. She also worked with her family at 9th Street Fruit Stand in downtown Hopkinsville. She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winburn Girdie Young.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam (David) Bostick, Hopkinsville, KY; her brother, Robert Allen (Dawn) Fields, Gulf Shores, AL; her sister, Linda Sue Tucker, Hopkinsville, KY; her grandchildren, Ashley Clayton and Brett Clayton; and great-grandchildren, Layla Clayton and Milo Clayton.
