Mayzelle Wakefield, 77, S. Jessup Avenue, Hopkinsville, KY passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN of natural causes.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Rev. Dale Comperry officiating. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Lamb Funeral Home.
A native of Logan County, KY, she was born March 11, 1946, the daughter of the late Oscar Murphy and the late Jeannie (Scott) Coburn.
Mayzelle was a cook and waitress at the Bar B Que Shack and a member of Grace Ministries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wakefield; her sisters, Vonell Murphy, Minnie Pearl Murphy, and Edna Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina Blankenship, Hopkinsville, KY; her sister, Erma Brown, Hopkinsville, KY; her grandchildren, David Michael Wakefield, Dustin Ray Berry, Tamara Marie Wakefield, and William Miles Blankenship; and her great-grandchild, Greycen Tate Berry.
