Nelta L. Yeager

Nelta L. Yeager, 78, Canton Lake Shore Drive, Cadiz, KY passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Gracey, KY of natural causes.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Green Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Dale Combs officiating. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

A native of Todd County, KY, she was born February 21, 1947, the daughter of the late Hugh Woodson Rager and the late Ova (Hardin) Rager.

Nelta was a deputy jailor at the Christian County Jail and also had worked for the EOC. She was a member of Calvary Memorial Baptist Church, the Red Hat Ladies, and scrapbooking club. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Loren Rager, Darwood Jones, and Dr. Lewis Martin; and her sister, Janice Wells.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Kermit E. Yeager, Cadiz, KY; her daughters, Suzy (Jon) Cansler, Christian County, KY, Tracy (William) Potter, Gracey, KY; her sons, Bobby (Judy) Etheridge, Cadiz, KY, Destry (Janice) Phipps, of Texas; her step-daughters, Mary Ellen McCorskey, of Texas, Elizabeth Ann Collier, Bristol, VA; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 8 step-grandchildren.
