Philip Hayes, 79, Bahama Drive, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Baptist Health Deaconess, Madisonville, KY of natural causes.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Rob Hoffman officiating. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he was born July 15, 1945, the son of the late Philip A. Hayes and the late Anita Monique (Cabana) Benson.
Philip served in the United States Army, where he retired Sergeant First Class and was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was a member of American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
In addition to his parents, Philip is preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert L. Benson; and his brother, Lawrence Hayes.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Kathy Hayes, Hopkinsville, KY; his son, Aaron Wesley Hayes, of Texas; and his brother, Bryan Douglas Hayes, of Colorado.
