Richard Wayne Thomas, 75, Antioch Rd, Hopkinsville, KY passed away at his home Sunday, April 20, 2025 from a brief illness.
He chose cremation and a private family graveside will be held at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Lamb Funeral home is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, KY, he was born April 26, 1949, the son of the late Rufus King Thomas and the late Flora (Cunningham) Thomas.
Richard was a truck driver and also spent many years in maintenance at Western State Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, but most of all he enjoyed sitting on the front porch talking to his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Windell Thomas, Kenneth Ray Thomas; and his sisters, Hayrua Thomas and Virginia "Jennie" Thomas.
Survivors include his sons, Kenneth (Tanya) Thomas and David (Sheila) Thomas, both of Hopkinsville, KY; his grandchildren, Kaleigh (Allen) Cole, Makenzee Thomas, Tyler (Kady) Thomas, Travis (Gracie) Thomas, Trever Thomas, and Chase (Cheyenne) Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Mila Reynolds, Nathan Thomas, Jacob Cole, and Christopher Thomas.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
