Robert LaPlante

Robert Raymond LaPlante, 53, Millbrooke Dr., Hopkinsville, KY, and formerly of Western Massachusetts, died Saturday, May 23, 2020 at his home after a long illness.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

A native of Holyoke, MA, he was born September 21, 1966, the son of the late Richard LaPlante Sr. and the late Olive LaPlante.

He was a maintenance supervisor at Grupo Antolin for 19 years. He served in the U.S. Army, as a Specialist E-4, where he was a cook. He was a member of American Legion Post 233 in Oak Grove, KY.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael LaPlante.

Survivors include his daughters, Brandi Whitty, Renovo, PA, Rochelle Fuston, Clarksville, TN, Jessica Quintana, Dover, TN, Victoria Walker, Clarksville, TN; his son, Robert “Bobby” LaPlante II, Hopkinsville, KY; his sister, Tammy Hughes, Bayville, NJ; his brothers, Mark LaPlante, Bayville, NJ, Richard Paul LaPlante Jr., Hopkinsville, KY; and 6 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Military Toys for Tots at Fort Campbell, KY.
