Sandy Jo Newton

Sandy Jo Newton, 65, Cadiz Road, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at her home of natural causes.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Lamb Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the funeral home.

A native of Tompkinsville, KY, she was born June 17, 1958, the daughter of the late Elmer Ford and Elva Marie (Hammer) Ford.

She was a LPN, having worked for Dr. Dye, Dr. Dempsey, Dr. Dougherty, and Dr. Goode. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She loved playing bass fiddle, bass guitar, and playing in a quartet.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Frommel.

Survivors include her husband, Smith Newton, Hopkinsville, KY; her sister, Shirley (Dan) Carter, Hopkinsville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
