Shirley Temple (Meredith) Matthews

Shirley Matthews, 83, High Point Drive, Hopkinsville, KY, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Bradford Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. 

A private family graveside will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 at Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. 

A native of Dover, Tennessee, she was born April 20, 1937, the daughter of the late Charles Meredith and the late Bertha (Wallace) Sholar.

She was a homemaker and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Matthews.

Survivors include her sons, Roger Dale Lamb, Murfreesboro, TN, Fred Edward Thomas, Jr., Tucson, AZ; her daughters, Victoria Lynn Tucker, Asheville, NC, Catheryne Taddeo, Fredericksburg, VA, and Sandra Reneé Phillips, Corpus Christi, TX; her brothers, Delmar Meredith, Hopkinsville, KY, and Harold Dean Meredith, Kansas City, KS; her sisters, Martha Sue Morrone, Greenville, NC, Deborah Shipp, Hopkinsville, KY, and Sylvia Broadbent, Hopkinsville, KY; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
