Shirley Peterson

Shirley Peterson, 73, Dogwood Drive, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Evansville, IN, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023 at Lamb Funeral Home with John Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the funeral home.

A native of Hopkinsville, KY, she was born August 17, 1949, the daughter of the late William Dawson Moore and the late Mary Katherine (Meredith) Moore.

Shirley was a first grade teacher at Belmont Elementary for over 30 years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond D. Moore; and her sister, Linda Moore Waldrop.

Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Peterson, Hopkinsville, KY; her daughter, Amanda (Thomas) Thorne, Hopkinsville, KY; her brother, Ronald “Ronnie” (Donna) Moore, Hopkinsville, KY; and her grandchildren, Philip Thorne and Evelynn Thorne.
