Silas Edward “Eddie” Taylor

Silas Edward "Eddie" Taylor, 79, Butler Road, Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 near Pensacola, FL of injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026 at Lamb Funeral Home.

A private family service will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

A native of Owensboro, KY, he was born October 25, 1946, the son of the late James Earl Taylor and the late Gertrude Belle (Hair) Taylor.

Eddie was a United States Army veteran and retired from Plymouth Tube Company. He was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church, where he served faithfully for 17 years. Eddie enjoyed watching boxing on TV, fishing, playing golf, working on cars, and spending time with his grandkids, family, and friends. Also, a huge Kentucky basketball fan!

A man of profound character, unyielding integrity and respected by many, he learned the value of hard work and compassion early in life. He was a beacon of strength and kindness to all who knew him. He married Stella Barnett, his devoted wife, with whom he shared 54 years of adventures, laughter, and a profound, lasting love. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, always finding time to help someone in need and always going the extra mile.

Survivors include his wife, Stella (Barnett) Taylor; his sons, James (Sherri) Taylor and David (Sheri) Taylor; his daughter, Stacy Taylor; his brothers, Larry Taylor, Jim (Janice Brown) Taylor, and David Taylor; his sisters, Eunice (Leonard) Brown, Peggy (Cary) Lake, Angela Johnson, Pat (Jimmy) Burklow; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
