Toshi Kunkel, 93, East Nashville Street, Pembroke, KY, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at her home of natural causes.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023 at Fort Donelson National Cemetery in Dover, TN with Dennis Baker officiating. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
A native of Okinawa, Japan, she was born March 29, 1929, the daughter of the late Kenji Oishi and the late Kamiko Oishi.
Toshi was a homemaker and a member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ret. SSG. United States Air Force Wesley Monroe Kunkel; her son, Wess “Buddy” Kunkel; her daughter, Reiko Trent Zealer.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda (Dennis) Baker, Murfreesboro, TN, Tracy (Myron) Dossett, Pembroke, KY; her sister, Toy Shell, of Florida; her grandchildren, Amy Kunkel, Adam (Heather) Kunkel, Denise (Rod) Roark, Jason (Kellie) Trent, Bridgette (Josh) Phillips, Jessica (Calvin) Jackson, and Jennifer (Jordan) Hale; her nephews, Robert Shell, Mark Shell, and Troy Shell; her great-nephew, Kee Shell; her great-niece, Iseline Shell; and 14 great-grandchildren.
