Violet Fowler Cansler, 93, Dawson Springs Road, Crofton, KY, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at her home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Hamby Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, KY, she was born July 4, 1928, the daughter of the late Ollie B. Fowler and the late Mary Ollie (Heriges) Fowler.
Violet was a seamstress at International Shoe Factory and Flynn Enterprises. She was a lifelong member of New Palestine Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the W-MU (women’s missionary union).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Cansler; her brothers, Leonard Fowler, Wilbur Fowler, and Billy Rogers; her sisters, Mary Louise Fowler and Marjorie Hadden.
Survivors include her son, Michael Russell Cansler, Crofton, KY; her daughter, Patti (Patrick) Shafer, Crofton, KY; her sisters, Evelyn Colley and Brenda Hancock, both of Hopkinsville, KY, Debbie (Ray) Wyatt, Cadiz, KY; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
