Walter Ray Spain

Walter Ray Spain, 77, Hopkinsville, KY passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at his home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. David Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. 

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the funeral home.

A native of Hopkinsville, KY, he was born June 7, 1947, the son of the late Walter Spain and the late Rowenia (Wagner) Wells.

Walter served in the United States Army. While serving in the second battalion, 15th infantry, he received Battalion Track Vehicle Driver of the Month. He worked in quality control at Ebonite for 25 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. Walter was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Hill; his sister, Diane Murphy; and Mary Nokes, who raised him.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Bomar) Spain, Hopkinsville, KY; his daughters, Angelia (James) McGillivray, Clarksville, TN, Elisa (Mark) Dossett, Monroe, GA; his grandchildren, Emily Stokes, Robert McGillivray, Britney Dossett, and Seth Dossett.

Memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, 1945 Concord Church No 2 RD, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
