William Stone Chester, 95, Hill Street, died Friday, January 24, 2020 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN of natural causes.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ashby officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the funeral home.
A native of Christian County, he was born October 28, 1924, the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Chester and the late Maudie Belle Hall Chester.
He was a salesman at Cayce Mill Supply and served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of West Mount Zoar Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, song leader, and Sunday school teacher. He also was a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Glenn Durham Chester, and his sister Carolyn Norfleet.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Michael (June) Chester, Macon, GA, William Stephen (Shirley) Chester, Hopkinsville; his daughter, Lori Fisher, Savannah, GA; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
