William "Red" E. Groves

William E. "Red" Groves, 89, Butler Road, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Lamb Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the funeral home.

A native of Muhlenberg County, KY, he was born July 26, 1932, the son of the late Morton Groves and the late Eris (Tarance) Groves.

Red worked at Phelps Dodge in maintenance for 32 years and was a member of Kelly Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Wayne Groves; his sisters, Louise Deering and Mary Jo Groves.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Martha Groves, Hopkinsville, KY; his son, Michael Dwayne Groves, Hopkinsville, KY; his sisters, Wilodene Henderson, Louisville, KY, Janie Brown, Elizabethtown, KY, Helen Smith and Wanda Tooley, both of Greenville, KY, Sue Groves and Robin Coleman, both of Virginia; his grandchildren, Alan Groves and Jamie Tucker; and 4 great-grandchildren.
